    Very small, easy job. Unbolt shift rod from shift shaft coming from the transmission, use a seal puller to pull the old seal out and then gently tap the new one in and bolt the shift rod back on. Be sure to bolt it in the same orientation.

    That's exactly what I was thinking. I have noticed a recurring patten in several of the FC sections. The most unhelpful and sarcastic comments always seem to come from the "consultants".
    Just an observation.

    Leaks are not normal the seal needs to be replaced. Will you do it yourself or pay someone to do it? If your paying someone get it fixed your losing gear oil. You could keep topping off with gear oil but that gets expansive.
