David Richard's Pro Drive is working at fielding their own F1 team in 2008. Full fields in F1! No mention of engine.

Sounds almost like a logic choice. But much can happen till then.

At any rate I welcome another F1 team and especially one like ProDrive! Great news!

It would be his third time in F1 - he managed Benneton in the 90's as well as BAR Honda. He's already working with V-8's with his joint venture - Ford Performance Racing running in the Australian V8 Supercar Championship. We saw the "unveiling" of his new car when we were in Birmingham UK for the Autosport International Show - the P2. Additionally he's running the DBR9's (#58 & #59) in endurance racing. Almost forgot the Subaru Rallye team too. Very talented person. . . hope he does well.

Perhaps he will buy Renault if Carlos Ghosn decides F1 is no longer worth it and rebrand it Pro Drive. By than there will be an Engine Freeze as far as development anyway.

At least! Glad to see Dave Richards having another go at it. Despite being vilified in the whole Jacques scandle, I think Dave is a very smart manager and knows how to succeed. Of course he is a jerk for pricing WRC coverage off the air, but that is another story! :p

Motor? Smart money is that is WON'T be a Honda. ;) Oh, and does anyone care about the breakaway series anymore? Mercedes can go play with themselves.

Just read a couple articles stating that David Lapworth (one of the earliest employees of Prodrive, an engineer and manager) left his position with the Subaru Rallye Team last week and will assume a senior role in the start-up of Richard's GP project. Further stated was the possibility that they are looking at producing their own cars but it's also possible that a current team (Renault F1) might be come available.

Good thinking. Sounds almost too logical.

ProDrive announced today that it is building a new F1 "spec" factory in England.

    All righty then.

Dave Richards should do an excellent job, I bet he will be further up the grid in his first season than either Midland or Super Aguri (what is the deal with the Super part anyway?).
