Just putting this out there to see what kind of feedback I’ll get…

After crashing my standard set, I decided to manufacture my own set considering that the structural design was highly improvable while maintaining the standard look. It can be installed by any tidy mechanic in 2h without modifications on any 488 (incl. Pista) and F8.

These aero appendixes are fitted between the door and the mirror and as you probably know, they accelerate air flow into the rear intakes thus increasing the amount of air inside the airbox and lower the air temperature into the intercooler; to end up, more air mass will bring extra free reliability and performance.

For the task I decided to go with top quality PrePreg carbon fiber XPREG XC110 with antistatic varnish that prevents superficial disruptions and reduces dynamic friction ratio; on the critical stress locations higher density CF has been applied while maintaining same number of layers; measuring CF density in grams/m2 and thickness in mm, in the mirror base, where most of the vibrating stress is located, we went from 3 layers of 200/400/400 with 2.0mm total thickness to 200/600/600 with 1.61mm, on the wing itself from 240/400 with 0.6mm to 200/600 with 0.92mm and in the vertical flap from 200/240/240/200 with 2.25mm to 200/600/600/200 with 2.16mm.

Although a 30% extra CF has been applied and thanks to the monocoque design instead of 3 internally glued independent parts, total weight per corner has dropped from 116 grams to just 75; subsequently rigidity and balance has been massively increased and considering the lower suspended weight, the overall inertial vibrations also have been reduced, thus both reliability and performance have been increased.

If anyone is interested, I can produce it at 1,200US$ a pair, including worldwide shipping (no insurance); please, drop me a PM in case you are interested.
