    hello,

according to Ferrari of Denver's websight, their orders for the 599 & 430 arebooked through 2012. www.ferrariofdenver.com/news

"2007-8-9-10-11-12 Ferrari 430 & 599. All accounted for & sold well in advance."

anyone in the chicagoland hear similar stories from Lake Forest or Contnental? i can see for the 599, but the 430 is already in its third year of production. Unless they are counting orders for it's replacement.

i've been observing the ferrari market since 1986. i've seen the boom and bust in this market before. what makes ferrari recession proof and immune to global political uncertainty(i.e, war) today as apposed to 1991

    thanks in advance

    joe

There are more wealthy people now versus 1991. Also Ferrari's production limits has helped keep demand up and supply low. It will be interesting to see what happens if Ferrari produces a car under the F430. Will that hurt demand on the F430 or its successor? Only time will tell.

The fact that they no longer had a stand at the Chicago Auto Show tells me their order books must be completely full.

Also when you look at the club activities the local dealers used to sponsor, it seems this year is slim pickings. To me that all points to one direction: Enough orders to last a while.

I always thought it to be an odd decision NOT to set up at the auto show because you don't have to. What better way to underscore your exclusivity than to display the cars that the public can't possibly get their hands on. You always have to be looking to the future, and to capture the imagination of tomorrow's car nuts today. The other message that sends to people is, when they do display, they need the business. I seem to recall that costs were the reason, but in the grand scheme, how much does it cost them?
