Exciting to think BMW might have their styling back on track after a decade plus of bastardization.

Finally someone else that shares my opinion! I think it looks like a concept car which makes it cool...

Put the Tesla drive train in it and you have another winner.

22 miles on paper means about 15 in real life.

    Pathetic.

I do not understand the point of this car at this price.

The 3 cylinder motor is the same one going in the new base Mini. That car costs $19K.

White and black is not the way to order this car. Looks like an Orca.

If it's engineered like the P1(electric motor is there to fill the torque voids of the gas motor) then I think it's a very interesting vehicle. If it's a hybrid made for BMW's eco numbers it's disappointing.

    Because BMW is not "all-in".

This is a science experiment to them, and a bad one at that. You can buy 4 Prius at this price.

I like the looks of it. Would buy one if it had a V10 M engine.

Well this has 360 BHP so it's no Prius ... BMW still claims it's a sports car so let's wait and see.

I'm contemplating on buying a Tesla. We had fun driving a friend's car this weekend.

My wife was extremely impressed when he spent hours with us "showing it off".

How cool is it to be able to control the car's electronics with your smartphone.

I told my wife let's wait & see the I8 person & driving it before pulling the trigger on the Tesla.

I wonder what the final price US is going to be? If it's about $150k or under I think it's worth a look.

Being a BMW driver for 28+ years naturally I want to have hands on with the I8 instead of reading "other's" opinions on a car they haven't seen much less driven.

If I like it or the Tesla one will become my wife's dd sometime in late August.

I8 is not going to be a very practical car, not only a very small cabin but also with pretty difficult access, especially for women (definitely not allowing a gracious entry or exit in a skirt).

Wife is not the skirt fifi type she'll probably wear some ripped up jeans or a bikini.

Usually when she wears a skirt in our Countach she has spanx on. She's the type that can care less what others think. According to her if the pervert is looking to get a free-bee at her who-ha that's his problem. Gotta love a woman like that.

As far as a small cabin that's fine. She's just going to go to the beach & joy rides doing girly things anyway. As long as it has room for her beachbag & a Pomeranian that's all the room she needs. lol

From a styling standpoint I love it. From an engineering standpoint I dont get it.

The rear kinda reminds me of a 928 GTS just a little tarted up on the rear quarters.

Not even close, my 928 is insulted.

Actually the cadillac ELR beats this i8 in both looks and tech, while the Tesla trounces it in both categories. Very poor showing for the years put in by a top german engineering company. Elon is laughing again.
