When it comes to your car care do you have it professionaly maintained or DIY...?

  1. Take it to a shop, and hope they dont drop a microfiber and reuse it?

  2. Have a mobile detailer come to you?

  3. Do it yourself and hope your using the right products?

A quick question to all you Ferrari owners....
Do you maintain your Ferraris appearance, or do you have it proffessionaly maintained?
And if you do so yourself, what products do you use ?

Well when I do get my Ferrari I will be the only one that washes and details it. There is something sensual about cleaning a car, especially a Ferrari :)

If you have the proper 'know how' and the right products why not do it yourself?!

Well, products have changed so much over the yrs. The general public will go to Pep Boys or Kragen and buy whatever looks appealing, off the shelf, and expect awesome results when they get home and apply the product with an old sock or something. You did sum it up with "proper know how and products" but how many actualy "Know How?" A great detail will tak 4,5-6 hrs, at least for me it does. From Hondas to Suburbans, it all takes time....

Just sold my 360 and my take on this was if I could see out the window I'm fine with it. My rims looked like they were powder coated black .Living at the beach you come home late and the mist was all over it , sometimes I would hose it down if I felt like it before I stuck it in the garage. Had it cleaned and rocks chips painted by a "professional" before I sold it though . Seems like a never ending chore of keeping a car clean, it going to get dirty again anyway. Plus to my way of thinking since your inside the car when you drive only strangers see a clean car and what the hell do I care that a stranger sees the car clean . My sons (5 &3 )ride with me all the time and their little fingerprints where all over the glass and leather. I would rather drive than spend time washing it.

In summary, for those of you who actually care about the way your machine looks, while your in it, cuz you KNOW everyone is looking, I'd love to be able to provide tips or advice for those....Ive been detailing for over 20 yrs, and love Ferraris....A passion for both, so any questions, feel free to ask.....
