My black key fob for my 360 broke the other day. I have my PIN code that I just had to pay $500 to get from Ferrari. I have a red master and another black key fob that is from another Ferrari that came with my vehicle by accident when I bought it. Since I have a red master and a black fob, does anyone know if I can some how reprogram the red master with my PIN code from the car????

This is what I learned and went through 3 months ago:

    1) To program a NEW set of FOBs (1 red + 2 blacks) bought from your F dealership - you must have the MATCHING red fob + PIN of YOUR CAR. This is what I had done - I was lucky to have my original RED fob + PIN.

    2) If you have fobs (any colors) from any other sources, the only choice is to clone them but they can not be programmed in using the PIN.

Since you have the PIN (make sure it works by starting car using key + PIN alone), you can reprogram immoblizer with your extra set of red master + black fobs. HOWEVER, once you do that, you will no longer have the PIN, since the red master will insert its own PIN into your immobilizer. Your old PIN will become useless, but you will have 3 new fobs that work (assuming the black fobs match the red master - I think there is no way to tell until you program the immobilizer with the red master first and see if the black ones work - if they don't, then you are left with a red fob and no PIN). Now, that said, the new red master should have come with a card with its PIN. If so, you are good to go. Terry will correct me if I'm wrong, as he is the master of this!

Lenny- More information. When you say you broke your fob, did you break it physically or did it just stop working (LED no longer comes on)? If the latter, a new battery may fix it.

Gobble may still be able to clone a black fob from your broken one by reading the data off the fob's Electronically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory (EEPROM). He can actually use the spare black fob you have to make the clone. The red one could be cloned to be another spare black, as well. There is no internal difference between the red and black fobs, just that the EEPROM in the red fob normally has the PIN in it. The red fob's PIN is never used again after the Alarm ECU is programmed to accept a new set of 3 matched fobs.

You are very lucky you have your PIN. That also gives you the option of ordering a new set of three fobs with a new PIN from Ferrari. You do not need anything except the PIN and the new fobs, but it may take a while to get a set and they are $550-750.

N4S is correct, if the spare red and black fob you have are part of a matched set, you could program the Alarm ECU to accept those two fobs. Big if. After that you would be limited to cloning fobs because you would not know the PIN and could never program the Alarm ECU to accept a new set of fobs.

Read this document, take two aspirin, and let us know if you have any questions in the morning. It also tells you how to start your car with no operating fob. Might come in handy.

I have purchased a new master and 2 new FOBs for my 575 Maranello. Can someone tell me if I use the new code that came with the new set or the code that was used to program the fob that works to start the car now? I am unclear on what code I should be using to program the new Fobs.
Also, the key ignition has 2 positions before turning it to start. how far do I need to turn the key to count as a click?
    Thanks MClark

See if this helps. You use the old PIN code to put the alarm ECU in learn mode so it can learn the new IDs and PIN code from the new set of fobs.

These checklists should help and Immofixer also has videos on youtube that demonstrate how to do the ECU reprogram.

Apologies Taz, this is probably in the document.

    1) You can not reprogram the system with the same PIN. IE: if the pin is currently 1234 the new pin MUST be different so you can't use the current red to mate up new black fobs.

    2) Just because you have a new red fob it is not wise to use it to reprgram unless you are POSITIVE that you have the correct PIN for that fob.

    3) The PIN that Ferrari provides may or may not work. I paid my $500 and it didn't work. I wouldn't ever do that again. I would use the guys in Australia and be done.

As of last, when ordering new fobs (set of 3 with new PIN) all come black with one labeled master. I too paid $350 ish for PIN retrieval and did get it to work but only one time - not sure why.

Before doing anything about fobs, those with their old PINs should confirm they work by starting her with the PIN and key strokes alone. Otherwise, you could be wasting a lot of money.
