Finally completed!!! ........ after several months of planning and fabrication  .......... the results ........... Y-Pipe Delete, Full Stainless, Nero Ceramic, Twin Monster Bypass Valves with retained F355 F1 Howl ....... and ........... Scuderia Exhaust Tip Location ...........!!!

Large twin bypass valves utilize a common linkage for 'sync' actuation under all circumstances. The single 'billet alloy' vacuum actuator is mounted to minimize thermal exposure and should it be necessary, features a replaceable 'fiber reinforced' diaphragm. The larger bypass valves maintain full exhaust 'flow area' and butterfly leading/trailing edges are shaped for smooth exhaust flow at WOT.

Scuderia style 'through bumper' exhaust exits :)!! This system, while it is implemented in the Scuderia is also used in aircraft as 'exhaust augmentation'. The exhaust tips are pointed into larger flared inlet tubes (bumper inserts), to create a low pressure area around the larger entry of the tube, this low pressure area acts as a siphon to draw out hot engine compartment air! So not only does it look cool ....... it actually is :D!!!! Additionally with the tips relocated through the bumper, it allows the factory diffusers will be extended through the lower part of the bumper.

This muffler was designed for modest sound levels and optimal flow ....... while maintaining exhaust column velocity at all rev ranges. Excepting the cats, straight pipe flow is achieved at all RPM's with increased flow area as bypass valves open. This system will be replacing a stock 2.7 muffler, y-pipe and will be dyno tested :) ..... RWHP gains are anticipated throughout the power band with peak gains at higher RPMs.

Here are some obligatory pics of the new system to be installed with a pic to 'illustrate' the new tip and diffuser location :) :

    Cool engineering as always :)

I assume there is a back up option of using the standard exhaust location for the fratelli that don't want to cut up their bumper :)

Thanks for the good words :)!! It was a lot of work ............. but if it were not challenging, I probably would not have pursued it ... ;) :D!!

Speedy: Yes! standard tip exit is do-able with no compromise in performance!

X11OUD/jssans/eulk328/captglen: Thanks guys! The practice is helping with the results ........ It will be installed in a couple weeks-ish ...... before/after dyno will be later in June ..... sound clips will be taken then and results of both will be posted here :)! Anticipating 20+ RWHP ......... with emphasis on the + ..... ;)

CRAIGF355: This particular example uses 'standard' F355 manifolds and cats. The car the system is going on is a 2.7 F355 with GruppeM intake, fabspeed headers and hyperflow cats ........

Here is a pic of an actual Suderia tip/exit. The goth bumper inserts will be trimmed to the F355 bumper contour during installation to mimic the 'scud' result.

fatbillybob/roadracer311: Thanks guys!!!! The 355 this system is going on is out of state ....... though if good video does not become available ....... I may have to fly out and take some myself ....... ;)

Very nice work. I was particularly impressed with the exhaust bypass valve work. Any plans on developing or building your own to replace the factory unit?
