Yeah Im in north carolina and havlock NC is right near the coast, some of the worst places in the country for paint is right here on the NC coast.

Salt, humidity is always high in the summer upward of at least 80% all summer

I dont know where it originaly came from but Id be willing to bet its been here most of its life and that helped with the corossion especially if it has sat outside for the hurricanes
