Ive read rumors of a download update in Febuary. Possible cars and tracks, but it is just a rumor. Wouldnt mind seeing a Veryon and FXX go at it.

I still cannot grasp the fact that software is being released before the hardware. That is so extremely backwards I can't remember having ever seen that in the computer industry since its invention.

Well, apparently today wasn't the day- EB Games didn't get them in, but the manager dude told me it would be in tomorrow. So, here's to hoping for tomorrow...

 

I was surfing around and all I found was that PGR3 is supposed to come out the day the Xbox 360 comes out: November 22

Also after a bit of thinking I realized that there is no need to rush for me. First I have to wait for the cheat codes/strategy guides to come out...

 

no PGR3 again today - EBgames has updated their site and the store is now saying tomorrow - so, maybe tomorrow, the 16th...

 

i got my copy yesterday at gamestop, from now to the 22nd i will just be looking at the f430 on the front like ive never seen it before.

 

They still dont have the 550 Barchetta......

 

they did in pgr2

 

yeah it was in the same class as the 575M, the CL55, Bentley CGT.... I dont remember what else
I love that car... I dont even know why.

 

only 1 weekend to go. who's getting one for launch?
I had my deposit down in september, MS reemed me good. EB is only getting 60 instead of the intended 100. I'm number 72. The worst part about it is, they can't even guarantee one before xmas.

 

I'm getting one at launch - got PGR3 sitting on the table in the living room, ready to go

 

Not until there is a decent FFB wheel and pedals out for it.

 

PGR3 is at the local Gamestop but I won't be seeing a 360 till after Xmas is what I am told. No point buying a game without a system. I find it hard to believe that Microsoft cannot make enough of these things to handle all of the pre-orders. I think it's a designed shortage...

Here's my take on the shortage - It's the fault of Gamestops, EB Games, etc... the companies that started taking preorders for the system in May, before they had any idea how many they would be getting to sell. Combine that with the fact that there is obviously more demand for the 360 than there are going to be consoles on the 22nd... IMO, it's part Microsofts problem and part retailer problem - what compounds the problem is, it didn't look like there was going to be a shortage, for real, until recently - when the retailers that have been taking preorders for months found out that they were only getting enough units to fill approximately 1/4 of their preorders (some more, some less, but the 1/4 figure seems to be about average) - I really blame the retailers for letting everyone think that they were good to go, until last week when the started making the phone calls telling people "sorry, maybe by Christmas" - anyway, just my $.02

 

It didnt look like there was going to be a shortage because you weren't reading the right news.

Microsoft announced over a month ago that there will be a shortage. And a big one at that. They were aware of this a long time ago. The reason is simple. They are trying to supply the globe on the same day. That is to much to accomplish.

No game company has ever attempted that before. Consoles have always been on staggered launches. Microsoft learned the hard way, why that is.

It doesn't help at all that all of the games are made at 2 manufacturing plants in Japan. That is also the reason that the games were released early. So that they would have maximum trucks available for delivering consoles.

 

My local EB games they were only able to fill out about 1/4 of the preorders as well. I preordered mine over 3 months ago only to find out that I missed the launch day preorder by about a dozen 360's. They told me 3-14 days until I get mine.......I just hope its true. Im getting tired of waiting to drive the F50 GT.

I am glad of course about the GTR-1 being on there with the F50 GT Does anyone know if there is any wear or maintaining is required in the game?

 

3 - 14 days? Thats not even bad at all.
I'm second in line now. If 2 more people dont come up with the cash by tomorrow night I get one.
But if i have to wait, they said the second shipment coming into my city won't even bring any more to the EB that I ordered at. I may have to wait a month.

 

In talking to a retail store executive, they believe it is a designed shortage. They feel that Microsoft is trying to create a "Tickle me Elmo"-type of situation which will only drive demand even greater for when it is available. Considering all of the buzz about the PS3, it sounds like a pretty good strategy, even though it sucks for consumers.

People always want what they cannot get...

 

all the stores are sold out everywhere it seems... checked my tracking number this morning, mine will be here on Friday (th 25th) - I checked ebay this morning and saw consoles selling for over a thousand dollars (just the premium system, no games) - If that holds up, I don't know if I'll be able to resist the temptation to flip my box for more than twice what I paid for it... at the same time, I REALLY want to play it... gonna be a tough call...
