FUTURE : Here you go. This is the intended look. The rest is under way. It's a titanium metallic M3 Competition: quicker steering rack; retuned suspension; cross-drilled compound brakes; M-specific BBS forged wheels. Inside is Alcantara steering wheel and hand brake; special aluminum trim. We're doing a CSL (the Euro M3 lightweight) carbon fiber bumper and rear diffuser; sculpted trunk lid; CSL motorsport seats in Alcantara; Alcantara roof liner and rear deck; Titanium racing exhaust; ECU remapping; custom Technik 1 drilled pedals, heel pad, and passenger foot rest. We're going with BMW Motorsport gear whenever possible. On the Electronics side, DVD Audio as well as Video; plexiglass trunk floor with motorized (hopefully) amp/processor carpeted cover; touch-screen remote with armrest docking station; remote will control AV, motorization, and concealed strobes. Some other concepts we're trying to get working. The goal is to look as factory as possible, but impress like nothing else. Let's hope we can deliver in time for the show. -Gus Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Chris, those are both sweet rides. The T1 pedal shot is from Emil's car. That's Emil's V1 mirror on our desk... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Gus, I really like the mods that you're planning and the fact that you're wanting to keep it subtle and functional. Chris, this is the first I'm seeing of your whip and I must say that it's a beauty! Love the lowered setup with the BBS LM's. I'm also a huge fan of the BBS Ch's like in the pic from WF's site. Nice...
chris - - nice car & nice plates. hehe.. with chinese new year around the corner (happy new year), the 8888 is sure fitting. the teknik m3 is going to look great too,i'm sure.
I love the Carbon Fiber splitters up front, and the bottom of the rear bumper. Very nice subtle touches.
Looks like a good start. I like the idea of modifying it yet keeping it looking like it should have come out of the factory that way. Kind of like what Chip Foose does(ever seen his T-Bird?)
Very nice Gus!!! I look forward to a ride this Summer!!!! Can't wait to see the final completed pics!!!
The V1 in the mirror really changes your driving experience. With the placement in the mirror, you can drive with the audio alert switched off and you will still never miss a warning. Plus, your passengers don't get nervous when you are ripping down the road and the radar goes off... I'll post pics of the car when I have some good ones to post!
Great looking car. What can you do with an E36 M3 Sedan? Got any cool alacantra parts for those? BTW, I have that V1 mirror and it is great. The only problem I have is during the daytime, it can sometimes be hard to see.
Thanks. We don't replace those parts. We Alcantara wrap them. So some dash pieces, seat skins, etc. can be done to your taste. The V1 mirror display is very legible in daylight. We calibrate the V1 display illimination differently for standard and auto-dimming mirrors. Here is a pic in daylight of a BMW auto-dimming mirror... -Gus Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hmmm, interesting. I got my mirror from the in-'tard-net, some guy calling them the V1nvisimirror, or something. What would you charge to convert a standard E36 mirror? Plus, how much to wrap stuff? PM me please.
Tech- I have a V1 in my E46 M3. I've seen that mirror integration over the internet before.....where is the actual unit placed? Looking to make mine a little bit more stealthy, getting really tired of having the rip the thing off whenever i park. Thanks
The unit ideally should be placed in the back interior where it can be hidden. You would also need to intergrate either Lidatek or K40 for laser diffusing as placing the V1 in that location kills its ability to pick up laser because of the metal surrounding it.
Gotta give the e39 M5 some love too.. http://img142.exs.cx/img142/5421/m537su.jpg http://www.rpmracinginc.com/gallery/featuredcars/JohnM5/5.jpg http://www.rpmracinginc.com/gallery/featuredcars/JohnM5/4.jpg
