In that photo they have only been disassembled. But yes, so far the Ultrasonic cleaner is doing the trick. Now I need to figure out what I should do with the couple cans of Easy Off I bought, God forbid I would actually clean my oven
Well, I received a leather sample from Re-Originals and while the color is good, the texture is wrong. Looks like Coach Trim will be doing my work.
Some people should not use tools - this is my driver side seat bolt - I can't believe I got it out. Had to cut an allen key and hammer it in. Image Unavailable, Please Login
We shall see how much I can clean. As of now, I may recover the dash, center console and seats. I think I can save the rest.
Dave, One of these days I'm going to have to drive up and see your cars. We have a place on Chautauqua Lake and we're in your neck of the woods quite regularly.
Johann is one of the best in the market for the northeast on interiors - I believe he has a F40 at his shop now.
So today I used Chemical Guys leather cleaner to rough clean a bunch of panels. I must say, the cleaner works really well. Then I applied Leatherique rejuvenating oil to those panels and they are soaking now. I picked up a steam cleaner also and I'll be using it on all leather and carpets. I put in approx 12 hours this weekend and I'm enjoying the time.
This evening I had a chance to try out my new steam cleaner and thus far I am very impressed with the results. I also used Leatherique rejuvenating oil to condition the leather. I had a very poor experience with Leatherique regarding dye and there customer service however the conditioner seems to be one of the best I've tried and it smells great too. In the video I mention a carpet shampoo machine. Note, in this application I only used it to extract water from the carpet left from the steam. I'm very pleased with the results thus far, the interior is cleaning up like new from the disgusting filth it was (the photos do not do justice to shop how dirty this car was) I will need to source some dye for very minor touch ups. Dave - was it hard to remove the rear upper panel? (the one with the belts coming out) where did you start?
Looks like you will have plenty of time for this. How many feet of snow to you have so far? Interior work looks good Dave.
