    What: LenMar Motorsports ProMod Shootout
    Where: Texas Raceway, Kennedale, Texas
    When: November 6th and 7th

Friday, November 6th- Top 8 Points shootout Gates open at 6pm. Shootout Friday night only.
$30,000 guaranteed purse............All the ProMod Big Boys will be there..............
Saturday, November 7th- TOPMA Race. Gates open at Noon. Qualifying begins at 2pm.

    www.Texasraceway.com

Friday night will be huge. A $30,000 purse for a local race brings in a lot of out of staters and hard runners. There will be some runs in the 3.70's at over 190 mph in the 1/8 that night. Remember, 1/8 mile is only 880 feet. My buddy Gene Hector is one of the sponsors (RH Well Service, Big Spring, Tx) and he will be running his Small Block Mafia '63 Vette ProMod. www.smallblockmafia.com. He has been running in the 3.80's at about 187 and says he will step it up a notch for this race........

NEWS FLASH----I just found this out.....Gene reset the World Record at Ennis (Texas Motorplex) with a 3.83/190 off the trailer on October 24 for the 1/8 mile track...........

If you have not had the opportunity to see these "door slammers" run you should plan on attending. You will not be disappointed........"WARNING: BRING YOUR EARPLUGS".

I will be there. Will I see any of you guys? Look me up in the pit area at the Gene Hector Transport Rig.......

If you go on line now you can order tickets in advance. 2 day tickets are $20 for the spectator side parking (you can walk into the pits for free) and $30 for pitside parking.

Just found out also that on the same weekend he reset the world record that someone else took it right back away from him with a 3.71----WOW....that is really quick.

At least he can say he held the record for a while.......It would be nice to say you were the world record holder if even only for one weekend.

He thinks he can have the new car running in the 3.7's at about 200 mph soon. Getting the handling set up right has really been giving him fits.......

Friday night. Weather is supposed to be good and with cool temps and thick air there should be some really quick runs. Might see someone actually hit in the 3:60's with no slower than a 3.80 just to qualify into the field.

Rare photo of Ronnie Sox when he drove a Pro Mod car at the end of his career.....RIP Ronnie....
