    Hi All,
Anyone replaced prop shaft bearings before?
Going a little noisy so want to get them right.
    Is it a big job?

I'm going to change the front bearing at the back of the gearbox and the other bearing midways down the car.

Any info would be greatly appreciated
    Thanks
    Niall

You will need to remove halfshafts then remove torque tube and differential in one piece. Then you can seperate. Not enough room to do it in the car. Very dooable if you have the right equipment. Floor jack jack stands a couple of cans of break free and patience. Be careful and good luck if you take it on.

Thanks for the info Rick sounds like a big enough job but straightforward enough.
Didn't say I wanted to do it but more I have to do it, don't like unusual noises.

Thanks again for the info, at least I know what route to take.
    Cheers

I have not done the job but I have considered doing similar due to a small oil leak on the back of the tranny. It is my understanding that you can leave the half shafts in place. The diff mounts have slots that are about 1 1/2" and the idea is that the diff can be moved back that distance to allow the drive shaft to be uncoupled from the diff. Am I wrong? This makes the job a lot easier with less weight to deal with.
