    Some have observed that the new 599 is not a proper continuation of the "GTO" lineage.
    Following the 288 GTO it would seem a twin turbo version of the 458 would be more appropriate place to start. The first thing to change is the displacement of the motor so it would then be the 488 GTO. Also an expensive diet to reduce weight is needed to best utilize that extra HP. A custom body design in lightweight material would probably be the single biggest selling feature.

    It should then be homologated for a soon-to-be-cancelled off-road race series.
