SO i've been driving my new F355 for 2 months, and we're still dating (haha) so i'm trying different things (shift points, driving styles, etc) to see how the car behaves which is generally good no matter what..

My questions is, is there and ideal rev range for the car ie- should i be tooling around at 4-7500 RPM, or between 3-5500.. Maybe i''m just not used to the race bred engine style of a high revving v8 but i figured id ask those that have owned one for many more years than I about their thoughts.

    Cheers

    Chris

When you want to accelerate faster, rev it higher. That's the only real rule of thumb, otherwise drive however feels comfortable.

I typically shift around 5-6K RPM, never less than 4K, for normal driving.

I usually cruise around 3K RPM.

If I'm hot footing it, I shift around 7.5K or 8K

Around 8K in 1st to 2nd or 2nd to 3rd, I chirp the wheels and the jolt is so violent it blurs my vision...

^^This^^ Also, it is probably no worse to rev it too much and to lug it all the time
