Shall we try this again? PeterS?
Well i did it. I joined a gym today, my goal is to lose 30 lbs or better. I'm currently weighed in at 225 lbs. I figure if I do 20 minutes on a Stairmaster (cross training setting) burns about 150 celeries. Then work 3 different muscle groups 3 different ways. Also no more cheese & bread in the evening. If anyone can suggest a good 4 day exercise plan, please share your information. Thanks.
Good luck remember WILL POWER. Find healthy foods you enjoy eating instead of eating junk food. Eat as soon as you wake up as well within a half hour of waking up. Also, when it comes to exercise find something you enjoy as well. Back in November I went to the doctor and was complaining about back pain and stuff. I am only 20 years old! It also turns out my BP and cholesterol were way higher then they should be. Since then I started eating healthy and working out. I found I really enjoy jogging. I started out just walking for about an hour a day. Over the last few months it has now become a jog for about 1.5 hours per day. I try and plan my day around it now. In college it is tough, but I eat healthy monday-friday and on friday night and saturday night I give myself a break. In the last ~6 months I have lost about 40 lbs, and I feel GREAT the feeling is makes it well worth it. Attached is a before and after shot. I lost a lot of weight over a year ago, I'd never post before pictures! LOL I wouldn't mind losing some more. I'll probably go to the gym in a little bit. Good Luck to all of you! Weight Watchers and lots of cardio worked for me. I also had a personal trainer for a bit until I felt I could do the workouts on my own. My aunt's hospital is having a "biggest loser" contest for the staff.. they have a very nice sum of money collected for the winner as each contestant has donated quite a bit. It's a good idea and great motivation.
haha, me neither, I would never post a pic when I was a little heavier. I lost about 30 lbs maybe 10 or so years ago with WW and I've kept it off. But if anyone took a picture that showed me looking gross that picture was GONE in a heartbeat so I sure don't have any that really show the weightloss.
Wow...If I had one Id post the 'thread resurrection' card. I started with the 'heartbreak diet' in February. As my appetite came back i kept it in check and have continued to eat healthy 9 out of 10 days. i give myself a break every so often for a piece of pizza or whatever. However what I found to be most important for me was QUANTITY. My stomach has shrunk so much that I am now full eating 1/3rd the amount of food I used to eat. And Im going to keep it that way. im also doing the treadmill 6 out of 7 days (but my ankles are starting to kill me so I think I am going to buy a recumbant bike) and I am weight lifting which of course adds muscle so I am not seeing the scale drop as quickly as I like. Ive only seen a drop of about 15 pounds. But I have gone from a 44 waist to a 40 waist and I expect to hit my goal of 36 by mid summer. Maybe this gets moved to the fitness section now that its back alive ? Hey Zophie and Steph..post those pics up gals ! heh heh
Stole this from Ryalex a while back....seems appropriate given he started this thread Image Unavailable, Please Login
So you don't have a before and after pic to post? rats! I lost 35 pounds after my heel injury. I went from 230 to 195 in two years and have kept it off for the last year. During that time, my snoring went away and I feel great and look decent for a 6'-0", 50 year-old guy. When I sit down for a steak or a large plate of pasta that I would have woofed down in a heartbeat a couple years ago, I now eat about half of it and the rest is tomorrow's lunch! A couple years ago I did get down to 180, but I got a lot of comments that I looked too thin and a few people even asked if I was sick! Fifteen pounds went back on and is a comfortable weight for me.
Yeah, I think just not eating too much is a big thing. You can eat whatever you want, just in moderation. I'll sometimes pig out on the weekends but then I usually only have one meal. My personal trainer even says just try to eat 80% of what you used to eat, like if you order dinner and you would have eaten it all, just leave about 20% on your plate.
I have been doing the 5 meal a day thing and eating no unhealthy carbs. I eat healthy most all the time and I have lost 25 lbs in the last 6 months and reduced my body fat by 12% which now puts me in the healthy range. I also gained about 9 lbs of muscle. I was measured about 6 weeks ago and since then I think I dropped another 1" or more off my waist. Overall lost 4" in my waist. I look a lot thinner now. I am still going for 17% body fat which I think I can get to. I'm not that far away and I would like to drop maybe 5 lbs or less now. Good luck to all others who are giving it a whirl.
Good work, I'm happy to hear it. I went on one of these 'heartbreak diets' in January and it was the catalyst for my 15lb weight-loss between then and now. No cardio either, just eating perfectly 95% of the time.
Ryan, Nuttin' but love here so I'm going to take a different route and not talk about what I did but rather what you're gonna do!!! You started the thread and then bumped it almost a year later. DO IT, BABY, DO IT!!!!
