    Hi all,

I debated whether to introduce myself here, but thought why not — hopefully this is OK!

TL;DR: I’m aiming to buy my first Ferrari, a 360 Modena, in about 3 years. I’m here for motivation, knowledge, and inspiration.

I’ve been a long-time admirer of Ferraris. Growing up I had posters of the F40 and 360, and over the years I’ve been lucky enough to drive a few — a 360 on a “Dream Days” experience for my 21st, a California on a pilgrimage to Maranello, and even a 612 a few times when I moonlit as a chauffeur (including hiring it for my own wedding, which was cool!).

Owning one always felt like a lottery win kind of dream, but recently I’ve had a wake-up call: if I clear the debt I’ve been dragging around (and growing) since my youth, I’d have enough disposable income to make this possible. So I’ve set myself a plan: debt-free in 18 months, then save for a 360 in the 18 months after that. Out of one 'red'… into a different kind of red.

I’m set on a 360 Modena — always thought it would be Rosso Corsa or Giallo, but lately I’ve really been drawn to TDF and Le Mans Blue. Most likely it’ll be an F1 for my budget, but I’m handy with the spanners, so TLC projects (and maybe even a manual swap) don’t scare me. Watching YouTubers like Ratarossa and Vin_tra makes me think it’s doable!

I live in Matlock, Derbyshire, so if there are any local/Midlands meets I’d be welcome at, I’d love to come along. And if any local members fancy taking pity on me with a passenger ride or just letting me fawn over your car while asking endless questions, I won’t say no!

Thanks for having me — I’m looking forward to learning from you all, and hopefully joining you properly on the road in a few years’ time.

    Cheers, John

There's lots of 360 buying guides & advice up in the 360 section and also on av engineering site plus at pistonheads - local meets is less easy as there's simply not that many cars out there - you could pop in at Shiltech or Autoitalia to chat with service specialists

Welcome to the forum and good luck with your aspirations. Maybe join the FOC? Then you could go along to local meets and pick a few brains.
