Are we finally going to see a LaFerrari based one-off? "Go behind the scenes and join us as we embark on a one-off journey to create our most extreme Special Project to date. PROTOTIPO - A Film by Blackbird Concessionaires. Premiering 3:00PM CET, Monday 25th March." https://www.facebook.com/Ferrari/photos/a.77612496969/10156861500436970/?type=3&theater Image Unavailable, Please Login
A couple of teaser shots from BlackBird: Image Unavailable, Please Login BTW, they have been sharing pics of some sports prototypes in Ferrari's history on their IG page (P3, P4, 206 Dino, 333SP..). This SP could be a homage to them (not surprising, since the car itself is named "Prototipo").
One more thing: this one-off has been built for this Ferrari enthusiast "Mr. TK" https://www.instagram.com/mr_tk/
That homage idea has been covered with the Ferrari P4/5 by Pininfarina, a tough act to follow. The "other" LaFerrari design would be interesting especially if done without the batteries!
To me the car does not sounds like it is a Prototipo. According to some of the following definitions; 1) The word prototype has several types of definitions: ▪ A prototype is a specimen or first mold in which a figure or something else is made. ▪ A perfect prototype and model of a virtue, vice or quality. ▪ A prototype can also refer to any type of machine being tested, or an object designed for demonstration of any kind. ▪ A prototype or prototype can be a model of the software life cycle, such as spiral development or cascade development. ▪ A prototype of beauty is that model that depending on the history has been varying as it should have been the body of the people, both in their form and in their dress. These allow you to test the object before it goes into production, detect errors, deficiencies, and so on. When the prototype is sufficiently perfected in all the required directions and achieves the goals for which it was intended, the object can begin to occur. 2) an original model on which something is patterned 3) a first full-scale and usually functional form of a new type or design of a construction It does not qualify as a Prototipo. I guess you have to have something to sell the movie, but it should be factual.
That's right, even if the sentence "most extreme Special Project" makes me think of something more extraordinary, with a much more "race-y" look, something that might not even be road-legal since (sports) prototypes* are built for the track. *https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ferrari_P *https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sports_prototype Anyway, this is really exciting and I can't wait for Monday!
I see, thanks Christian. The names given to models now are vestigially rudimentary. The renaming of new models with a moniker from the past to me is a commercial ploy. Somehow diluting the glory of the former. I think it started with La Ferrari, for me, a name which I thought was terrible. Funny thing is that now I don't mind it so much. Must be getting to my brain cells.
Will this car have a roof? Keep in mind this project may have developed over a long period of time. This project could date back two or even three years. All framed around what else was happening in that time frame of development.
The correct name is TK Mak and he is a very nice and fine gentleman. He owns 512 M #1030 and 166 Dino F2 Tasman #0010, plus many other extraordinary automobiles. Marcel Massini
The quote "Most Extreme Special Project to Date" is really exciting. Mr TK Mak, seems to really like the Ferrari racing and Prototype.... I'm really looking forward to seeing this, a derivative of the FXXK with a body that reminds of the old Ferrari prototype?
@isot Is that based on the 488GT3? And it seems there's quite a huge wing in the back.. Edit: Another shot from Black Bird Image Unavailable, Please Login
Was thinking GT3 also - same wheels and vents on front fenders. Pretty sure this is the car all have been calling Big Brother - the white protoype seen at Fiorano. Considering the sound of this video, it's not a V12.... Too bad. I still can't wait to see this piece of automotive art!
From the front fender louvers, flying butresses, most likely a cantilevered front wing device at the front and what look like gullwing doors I say it's an homage to the Dino 206 Competizione. Mr. G. will be honored.
