Exciting weekend again for motorsports - F1, Rolex and the best of the weekend - the Proximus 24 Hours of Spa.

The 24 hour starts at 1600 Saturday. Quite an impressive list of entrants in this FIA GT race. Of significance is that there are EIGHT 430's entered and a lone 360. Go Scuderia Ecosse!! Many Astons, C-6's, Saleen, Vipers, Porsche. Drivers of note include: Emmanuel Collard, Romain Dumas, Lucas Luhr, Sascha Maassen, Mika Salo, Jaime Melo, Tomas Enge, Peter Kox, Pedro Lamy, Timo Schneider, de Simone, van de Poele, Andrea Bertolini, Luca Riccitelli, Timo Bernhard, Francois Duval, the Sucderia Ecosse regulars and so many more.

This event is the best deal of the weekend - 55 Euro gets you general entry and paddock. 385 Euro gets you the "On Track" package which is awesome.

Having been to Spa many times for F1 races, I can visualize the track, the woods at night with lights and sounds, the walk in the dark from Pouhon to the Village and so much more.

I think I know where I want to be at this time next year ! ! !

looking good for a good portion of the 430's - about 16 hours to go and #59(Salo and group) is running 7th overall, 7 laps down; #58 (Melo and group) is running 8th overall, 7 laps down. Scuderia Ecosse #62 is 14th , 13 laps down while #63 is 17th, 17 laps down. Appears to be one heck of a good race between the Aston and MC12 with the Aston in 1st (a C6 is running third and those three are all on same lap).

Me too ! With 12 hr 24 minutes to go it's Aston first MC12 second - I bet that's really something to see. The MC12 has fastest lap at 2:17.245 and the Aston has a 2:17.560. Mika Salo has the 430 in 6th place right now. It seems as if he's really found his calling - not F1 but endurance racing. Scuderia Ecosse has updates on their website too - those guys have had some real challenges thus far - changed a driveshaft in 15 minutes as I recall.

It certainly was an ongoing battle for 1st place with the MC12 and Aston exchanging places over the 24 hours.

Great for 1/2 the F430 field - #59 finished 6th overall; #58 finished 7th overall; Scuderia Ecosse finished 9th with #62 and 13th with #63. What's neat is that Mika Salo was one of the drivers in #59 and Jaime Melo was one of the drivers in #58. Both drivers drive for Guiseppe Risi's F430 here in ALMS and do a really great job. I really believe that Mika Salo has found his "calling" in the motorsport world. Congratulations to all the finishers in this race at my most favorite track of all . . SPA.

Sure wish Speed TV would cover the FIA GT races ! ! !

Ferrari owned Porsche there (four straight FIA GT wins in 2006). Even a Viper Comp Coupe won the G3 class.
