I have read in an old thread that this is 'Power Start' or similar to the old Launch Control.

Can anyone that has a car explain what this does, if it is effective, and if it kills clutch like previously speculated in other F car models?

    Thanks!

It's the launch control but I have never used it. It's bloody fast as it is IMHO.

It is quite cool. Press the button, press the accelerator while holding the car still with heavy brake pressure until the rpm stabilizes at about 3k. Then let go of the brake and floor the accelerator...away we go! There is definitely quicker acceleration using this!

Yes, it is similar to launch control in my 997.2PDK except at a lower RPM. The Ferrari gets out of hole fast. You should try it. My 911 turbo launches at 5000 rpm with all wheel. Feels like being rear ended my an 18 wheeler. Love it.

No problem with the clutch since the inception of the dual clutch tranny. The italia is not a dragster and plenty fast enough without using the launch control.

I haven't tried it yet either. Do you have to be prepared for a quick shift to second or will the car auto shift when it hits the redline?

I think it will shift for you. From what I remember. Was quite impressed how fast it launches for a rear wheel drive car. Love it.

Hmmmmm....I misread the button. I thought it said "PMS", not "PS". Obviously, I thought that was a button that should never be pushed! :)
