PS3 Ferrari challenge.

I need to get my G27 working again, the optical encoder failed so now it's collecting dust. Once you drive with a wheel it changes everything. Here's an older photo of the setup I was using from back in 2010.

Shawn was nice enough to let me borrow his sim. I really got spoiled and now have to invest in a similar setup. G27 wheel is the way to go. We have been racing on-line lately opn several different games. I agree with Shawn, it would be great to organize a racing league. It's kind of nice to bang fenders together without having to worry about the repair cost. Will, good looking setup. Get it working again!!

 

Huge thanks to Shawn for getting my wheel working again. I thought I'd have to buy a new one but he fixed the optical encoder. Just in case I went ahead & ordered the brass replacement, it should be here in about two or three weeks. Hopefully the wheel shouldn't have any more issues Until then. (I blame driving the Red Bull X2010 causing the damage, insane amount of wheel vibration) I spent a few hrs. last light getting acclimated to the wheel again, I've forgotten how much I missed this. Thanks again Shawn!

Dang, I donated mine to a charity garage sale because it didn't work anymore

 

I almost sold mine on eBay but for some reason I kept it. That's why it's good to be a hoarder, Dave.

 

What was wrong with it in the end? My wheel is not as reactive as it used to be anymore, and is making a terrible noise when going in a straight line and the center spring wants to center it (I assume...)....clack clack clack clack.



Still playable but I'm nowhere as fast as I used to be (haven't played sims in over 6 months) and I can't place my cars well, no matter what sim I play .

 

Transport from botswana and back is going to be expensive (and it'll undoubtly get lost on this side). I'd be better off buying a G27 .

Thanks for the offer though. It's still in workable condition, and it's about 6 years old now...it's done well and I'll probably end up buying a G27 soon!
