Version 1.1 of the F@H application got released not too long ago. Minor visual enhancements, some usability updates, and they say it's also faster.

Took me about 5 minutes to get it updated and back to folding :)

Just so you guys know, the Ferrarichat team number is 45428.

Folding@Home runs on Windows computers, Macs and Linux computers. There isn't an excuse for you to join the team :D

    Oh nice you asked :)

Folding@Home is a program you can run on your computer (or PS3) that'll simulate proteins and how they "fold" or form the building blocks of life.

It'll simulate numerous numerous numerous iterations and all the possibilites. Then Stanford runs statistical analysis on the returned work and publishes papers regarding them.

You can see their results thus far there.

Yeah, it's interesting on two levels from what I see
    1) The medical portion of this
    2) The technology portion of this

I believe F@H is one of the most powerful "supercomputers" in the world!
