    Decided to install my tow hook today into my 456. Both the original tow eye and receiving port looked like they had never been used. Wanted to see how easily it fits in case i need it for real some day. Without the stock cover, What i found was years of debris and likely some corrosion/oxidation on the female threads made it difficult to get the hook installed, even then after about 2-3 threads it was binding. So a lot of back and forth as well as some penetrating oil into the port finally was able to get the bolt all the way seated. Not sure how many threads would be safe to pull the car on, but couldn't imagine stripping it for lack of being able to insert it. Glad this was done in the garage and not side of the road.

    Fully seated was about 18 threads deep (of the roughly 30)

    I use the "tow hook" front license plate mount on my 2010 599GTB. The 599's tow hook fit smoothly into the receiver, but I needed to have the front license plate mounting screw "re-died" to match the spacing of the threads on the car.

    Excellent idea I shall do mine this weekend. Although I have A348I I just cleaned the inside of my headlight lenses and they are 80% brighter even my wife said wow did you get led I said no I just cleaned the lens! Amazing how seldom driven a car can be but yet get so much debris.
