PSK...............Bathurst 1000 ?

Brock's got little chance of winning the Bathurst 1000, it's far to competitive for any rule manipulation unlike the 24hr race where is seems compulsory for Holden to win.

My pick for the 1000 would depend on who is partnering with Jim Richards , if it's a top driver I'd pick them, if not then Ambrose/Ingall, or Murphy/Kelly.

I watched some of Sandown (the first few disasterous and extremely amature laps) and there was no mention of Peter Brock??

He really is passed the point with these guys and would stand no chance ... but like you say in the 24hr Holden will simply continue to cheat and embarrass themselves.

While the concept of the 24hr race is great the way it is being allowed to run is extremely embarrassing to anybody in Australia who has a brain cell (and that has to surely be more than just the relocated New Zealanders ).

I believe they want to create a southern hemisphere Le Mans (?) ... and if that is the case allowing Holden to cheat like this is not going to encourage other manufacturers which is what the race desperately needs.

What is the cheating?

 

The Bathurst 24 hour race is supposed to be for production cars. Holden created their Coupe version of their Commodore family car and it sells with a 5.7 litre v8 option (GM engine).

Holden though in the first year of the race entered a 7 litre engined Coupe saying that they were going to put them in to limited production. Also this car had a full race 6 speed gearbox (that has never ever been sold in a production car and is a racing only design) and with double wishbone front suspension (even though the production coupe is Macpherson strut ... but you see the V8 Supercar race series all now have double wishbone front suspension as part of their equalising BS).

This is all cool because Holden said they were going to productionise the car. They also entered the same specially built cars in our local Pro car series and thus were racing against 360 Ferraris, Porsches and Lambo's ...

Well not long after the 24 hour race and victory Holden final admitted that they have looked into the sums and no they are not going to productionise the car ... but they have since then STILL been racing this so called production car and winning EVERY 24 hour Bathurst in an illegal car!

Thus Holden must be funding somebody or providing the sexy entertainment to the organisers and just shows clearly how GM goes racing ... NO class IMO!

This is the funny thing about this particular cheat. EVERYBODY knows that Holden are cheating because it is hardly subtle and yet the organisers keep giving them dispensation.

Just saw the above mentioned in a Aussie racing mag. Thus maybe he will be racing at Bathurst. Why I am a big Peter Brock fan I really do not think he will stand a chance.
