Just got rebuild and modification of my PTU by British company "SSAutotech" Simon, better forks, better rings and other details. This guys is serious F1 company with testing stands etc. I am driving daily in hard mode, let's see how is good. It costs me around 9k$ including DHL delivery. New PTU costs 25k$ from dealer, and it's still weak and lottery game, I don't want to play lottery, and see only one option - improved PTU or nothing. This main reason why I will stay away from new purosangue, even If i able to buy few models of purosangue in my garage at same day. Attaching some pictures:

Thanks for starting this thread. I think all our expectations is that these rebuilt PTU's by independents are superior to the original Ferrari parts.

It will be interesting over time if this proves true. And of course not all rebuilders may be of equal quality.

I'm glad you decided to go this route, initially you were very unhappy with options available to you.

It will be interesting to see how the upgraded unit performs.

There seems to be little downside to going this route once the PTU has failed. Better components, substantially cheaper....what's not to like?

Thank you for posting the photos Emirateshills575. We can clearly see the blown circlip and seal in the second photo.

I need to add your car to the PTU failure database. Please can you tell us the year your car was built/registered. How old it was when the PTU failed and what the mileage was when it failed.

    thank you.

Yes circlup and seal was the problem of leak and errors. Ferrari Gtc4lusso 2017, 16k miles, I will remind errors list here if peoples will come from Google search:
    Ferrari 4wd failure error
    Ferrari manettino failure
    Ferrari rear steering error
    Ferrari 4wd overheat error
    Ferrari wet mode
    Ferrari low atf oil error

So total cost for modding PTU plus 3 days express DHL shipping, plus job = 11,000$

seems very reasonable. while this is a better fix that OEM it still wont last "forever", is that accurate?

Nothing lasts ‘forever’. Heck, the DCT in your car doesn’t last ‘forever’ either.

Amazing that in a $400.000 car in my case that Ferrari allowed this to happen ,
And become common knowledge, They've produced a car with 2 catastrophic
    failure’s DCT/PTU without a factory fix.

Else I cannot understand why they don't have ventilation seats as standard, Hv Projection on windows, and other small things which very important for luxury sportcars. Wtf

I think dealers and mechanics don't care about it, they works with reglament, it's so stupid and insistent. Official dealer can do invoice for BCM programming 4000$, but this is free firmware for you, when you buying the car, it's mean you buying all firmwares installed too. If you will do request for firmware by yourself they should send it you for free. And then you can setup it in workshops which have ferrari computer. Imagine, you need to pay for new ios updates 500$ each.
