    Hello all,

    I have been a lifelong car enthusiast. I have owned many sports cars of Porsche and Aston Martin level, but never a Ferrari.

    Last year while searching, researching for Ferraris, I did create a troll here named Mondial Joe. It was meant just to be a fictional character that posted silly things. One thing I discovered while doing this was just how nice and easy going everyone around here is.

    So please allow me to apologize. I am sorry for cluttering the forum with useless nonsense. I am also sorry if anyone thinks that I dislike the Ferrari community. That was never the case. I was actually looking at cars at the time. Also, if anyone thinks I disrespected the Mondial, not true. I have always thought that the Mondial is a beautiful car. I actually like them a lot.

    Recently, I did become a Ferrari owner. I did purchase a certified 458 Italia from a Ferrari dealer. I am absolutely in love with my car. I think for now, I probably will not post much. I just wanted to start of by apologizing to the community. This is absolutely one of the best forums in the car world. Also, most of the Ferrari owners I have met in real life are excellent people. I hope to keep learning about the cars here. I’ve also have been seriously bitten by the Ferrari bug. I plan on owning more Ferrrari cars in the future, god willing.

    I would like to thank the moderators, who I already apologized to. I would also like to thank all of you for making this such a great forum.

    While I cannot even fathom the psychosis that would lead someone to "create a troll here named Mondial Joe, it was meant just to be a fictional character that posted silly things"...

    I still say"good luck" with the second chance. [Whatever you posted in that "effort", I imagine (hope) it wasn't more than internet babbling like most of us do here daily...so hopefully no real harm/foul.]

    So..."good (re)start" with this apology, and enjoy the community...just treat it genuinely, shouldn't be hard...its a great community and resource, and respect the fact that folks take you at face value and take your posts as honestly written.

    458 is a great car, enjoy it and share your experiences here.

    I remember those posts, I thought they were hilarious. I still remember the one with the fried chicken and muffin top, too funny. I actually kind of missed them

    So, any pics of your car? I remember the Mondial Joe spoof and he never produced a pic of his car....I remember you bragging on the Rolex Forum of the fun and the demeaning way you insulted the Ferrari owners. Oh well, everybody deserves and gets a second chance they say.

    I remember Mondial Joe, I thought some of the content was pretty humorous. I would've just let him die in silence then used the forum appropriately starting with the new car announcement. an admission like this seems even more sad than just trolling Ferrari owners, as I guarantee nobody really put that much stock or thought into it. Might as well enjoy the forum and community rather than just saying you won't post much. Congrats on the 458 though!

    I agree with you. I wanted to let Mondial Joe die in silence. However, I was banned. I was unable to create a new account. So I had to come clean with the moderators. The moderators asked me to come clean in my first post.

    Ok, so here are some pictures. I am in love with this car. Those of you from Houston may recognize the car storage place, Alara garage. Lots of really cool people from Houston keep their cars here. I have met some excellent people just dropping off and picking up my cars. If you also keep some Ferraris here drop me a PM. I really enjoy meeting other owners.

    Anyway, I had been looking for a car for a while and would have never chosen this exact spec, but when I stood in front of it in person, I knew I was going to buy this car.

    Very nice. Yes, tdf and tan have that effect, ya either love it and gotta have it or…it’s always a fav color combo of mine.

    I stopped speccing racing shell type seats in my cars a couple of years ago. I used to always want the most race car vibe, but as I got older, I decided to get the most comfortable seats whenever possible. So since I was looking for a good car with comfort seats, this spec just made perfect sense.

    It might not have been the spec you would have chosen, but it is precisely the spec I would have. Beautiful car.

    (BTW, if you’re talking to Mondial Joe any time soon, can you get me the address for the gas station with the fried chicken? It sounded great and I didn’t get a chance to ask. )

    Saddest day on fchat was when Mondial Joe was banned. The stereotypes were SPOT ON.

    Welcome back. Love the 458. Anyone creative enough and with sufficient free time to crate Mondial Joe shouldn’t filter themselves.


    On another note perhaps a MondialJoe YouTube channel or TikTok ? Just a thought

    Ferrarichat doesn't allow multiple user IDs for the same person. We believe that everyone should "own" whatever they post, for good or bad. The MondialJoe username was changed to the current SVanDyck username as part of the reinstatement and the MondialJoe posts are the posts on his profile prior to today.

    TDF is absolutely spectacular on every Ferrari I've ever seen it on. Your car is gorgeous, congrats and enjoy it in good health.
