My wife has spent the last 4.5 years of her life writing a novel. Its been professionally edited and is ready for the next step. (Historic Fiction)

Wondering if anyone is in the publishing business or knows of someone who is in the publishing business?

Shes been lead down the wrong path with two so called agents so Im reaching out on her behalf.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.
PS its a very good novel!

    Thanks

Congrats to her on the accomplishment.
Did she consider serializing it and self-publishing on Amazon?
Generating her own sales may result in her novel being more appealing to a traditional publisher.

Good luck in the hunt. It's a difficult field to break into.

Self-publish on Amazon. The quality is amazing and the book cost is very low. You'll have to do your own promotion.

A neighbor of mine, a woman of a certain age, self-published a book on Amazon some years ago.
She self-promoted by getting into local newspapers and on local radio. They’re all looking for content.
She tells me that she’s enjoyed pretty steady if modest sales over the years.
Granted, her book appeals to a different niche (real estate gossip). I share this just as example of non-social media self-promotion.

To date, my dad’s written nine novels. I tried to help him self-publish to no avail. He tried going the traditional route over the years without success. He just keeps writing, happy with the hobby, and doesn’t appear bothered that he’s the only reader (he is for sure his own biggest fan).
