If this is your opinion of LEO's, then wait 'til you cross in and out of the US through Canada. They are exceedingly and unnecessarily rude and intimidating. Either they are trained to be this way or the job attracts this character. I once had a Canadian officer say something along the lines of "if it was up to me, i'd tell you to get the **** out of my country", all because I handed him my GC rather than my passport. Good thing it wasn't up to that schmuck since our line was down and losing $,000's/hour. Another time I was driving through Canada from Rochester NY to Michigan. The guy asked "do I drive through YOUR country to get home?" I didn't bother to answer him which pissed him off even further.
The most frustrating thing is that this Doesn't help half the time and this is why people have the view of them that they do. Don't get me wrong I know some great cops personally and I've encountered some that were exceedingly polite and professional, but they seem to be the exception. I also find that the nice ones are the ones who have/had the toughest details because they appreciate you being respectful and they knew that of they treated people like **** on the details they worked that those types wouldn't hesitate to escalate things. I apparently Rolled through a stop sign a few weeks ago so I asked the guy which stop sign I didn't stop at(thinking maybe there was a new one installed and I missed it at 3am in the dark). He told me so then I asked if I just completely blew through it or rolled through it and his response was 'Two minutes ago it was which stop sign and now you want to know if you rolled through it?' Took every ounce of restraint to not start talking to him like the a**hole he was. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
My philosophy: if ANYONE can see you, and you are not WELL within the law . . .you will be in trouble. BTW, I drive a abusemewithyournightstick YELLOW Pantera. Happy motoring!
Man you are so far off you are on Mars. I laugh at the ignorance and arrogance of people like you. So you were the biggest idiot yet will not accept any blame. You deserve a cavity search with no lube.
I'm totally missing what you're saying here. So is the constant rudeness warranted here by these border officers? Note that I didn't say they were all like this. Are they trained to be rude and/or intimidating or is it the nature/character of those applying for this job? How am I an idiot for not answering such an idiotic question?
Exactly. Like most people, its hard to see in yourself or your kind what others easily see. This topic has been covered and beaten to death. The consensus and smart thing to do when dealing with cops is be polite and (to use a phrase) kiss ass. Ummm...why is that? Duh. We could also talk about the over-abundance of mustaches and large forearms in the LEO ranks To be sure, there ARE cops who act like public servants. I haven't met them yet, but I'm sure they are out there. The ones I've met (and the youtube video's that are now possible due to phone cameras) are typically *******s who have convinced themselves of their moral superiority and enjoy having power over the sheeple. YMMV.
You stood out, making unusual movements, his primary goal was to determine if you were impared, after seeing you were not, sent you on your way. Would of likely done exact same thing if you were driving a SUV. You should thank the officer for being out there trying to control the drunks, and stop focusing on it being because of the car.
I was on a 6 lane highway and had to get off an exit. I took my time , used my blinker and did one lane at a time very prudently. I believe he was trolling for a DUI. I was not intoxicated and I almost said no to the flashlight test out of principal as there was no probable cause but I wanted to just get home. Drunk drivers should be held accountable. I was not and did nothing to indicate I was
Well Robert, it makes for a nice story to tell. Glad you weren't caught doing something inappropriate which has been known to happen with Ferraris from time to time! SIX LANES!!!!! What I wouldn't give for a couple more lanes! Cheers
I'm curious, in CA can a driver refuse a breath or blood test with no consequences? I am not sure of the penalty here in MA, but I know if a driver refuses there is a loss of license for a certain period.
oh yea, back in 2007 california highway 92 bridge, its like 2am and you can see nobody on the highway, I was off the lane a little and occupied a lil bit on the lane next me, got pull over, asked "how much have you been drinking!" " nothing, i don't do alcohol " then the same flash light method was applied to me. wa hahha
Don't worry about it he likely wanted to check out your Bella machinna and wifey. My 2nd week I had my Rosas Corsa 360 spider I was headed to long beach island New Jersey on a sunny day in June .........was in a pack of boring cars .......3 cars in front 3 behind we were all doing 75........New Jersey state trooper driving the other way on a two lane road drives past and rips a U Turn and singles me out! Young kid gave me a ticket .............annoying but.......hey you are driving a Ferrari and life is good. It happens. Don't sell it drive it! Happy 4th of July of july
I think you just caught some bad luck, and I don't think you need to worry about being pulled over every time you go out in your F-car. Enjoy your car!
I would say you were lucky it was just a stop. I think you may have been given a pass because you were driving a Ferrari. I started to change lanes to my right, changed my mind and instead of taking the right lane, chose to take the left. I was pulled over and cited for an "unsafe" lane change. The officer said it was because I went across three lanes. I was driving my daughter's car at the time, not my Ferrari.
I was in Laguna last night. There was another 360 spider in the same Valet. I guess I got lucky drove pretty spirited back up to Aliso.
I suspect the same. Unfortunate coincidence you were in the Ferrari but I doubt that was the reason he pulled you over. All the LEO are on high alert with a holiday weekend and people out driving with a few too many under the belt. For what it's worth I've had nothing but good experiences with LEO and the Ferrari. We have quite a few that stop by our Cars & Coffee.
