Hi Guys, It's a '82 2v F.I. 308.Read a few threads on pulling the engine out but still have a few questions for the experts. First, what is the best way to disconnect the clutch cable? I know it disconnects at the bellhousing.....but I don't see how? Second....what's the easiest way to disconnect the F.I. lines? Looks like I have to remove the fuel distributer for space but do I remove the injectors with he lines attached and leave them attached to the fuel distributer? Or should I disconnect the hard lines at the fuel distributor, pull the fuel distributor, and leave the lines connected to the injectors and pull the engine? Thanks in advance for the help.....I'm stumped. Carter
At the end of the clutch cable, there is a fork or a clevis. There is a pin attaching the clevis to the arm of the bell housing. Remove that pin and swing the cable away. For the FI, remove the distributor, remove the lines to the fuel injectors but leave the injectors in.
Just like Mitchell said. Here's a picture of what it should look like before the pull. Mine is a 82 too. Good luck. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks for the replies! Going to try it now.Chris,I read your thread twice before I started this! Thanks again.
Chris, nifty little red plugs on the injectors... Whether they come out or not is immaterial, they are not in the way of anything.
