Hi guys, im new to this forum. Currently, im in a process of buying a F430. My question is,
where do people go to get purchase inspection around Southern California, besides the
dealer? How much do they usually charge for that? Any answer will be appreciated.
    Thanks,

    albert

Welcome to FChat. You might start by filling out your profile so we know where in SoCal you are. I can recommend a couple of places in San Diego, but if you're up in Ventura County that won't help you much.

Also, an F430 is likely still under warranty. You might just take it to the Ferrari dealer and ask them. If it's for sale at the dealer, IMHO, I wouldn't be too worried about it -- check Carfax for accident reports, looks for signs of rough use, etc.

Pre-purchase inspections (PPIs) generally run $300-$500. If you were buying a Daytona or 328 or another older car, then a PPI is essential. For an F430 which is basically a new car, the only things that could really bite you are undisclosed collision damage or significant paintwork (anything other than a stone chip touch-up).

You'll probably get better information by posting in the 360/430 section of FChat, seeing as your query is model specific.

Unless your name is already on the list for a new one, you may have to wait a year or more. However there are '06 cars available in the secondary market. Again, these cars are all under warranty - no major problems that I have heard of, and it's probably too soon to tell, but you'll want to ask the F430 owners who post in the 360/430 section. Just get one that hasn't been in an accident, and avoid weird color combinations if you ever plan to resell the car.
