Hello: I am a previous owner of a 328, now sold and am contemplating the purchase of a 97 355. I am no stranger to the Ferrari world, namely part cost and little aggravating item that seem to be inherent to Ferrari's. I have done my home-work on the vehicle and the car is going through a thorough inspection at the local Ferrari dealership in Vancouver BC. However, there is nothing like friendly advice from existing owners of 355's. So folks, what are your thoughts, part cost and significant depreciation are a concern to me.

    Thank you

    Gary

Not an owner, and nothing really constructive to add, but being able to drive the most beautiful Ferrari ever built doesn't seem like a bad way to go.

Which car are you looking at? The one at Auto One, or Siyam?

I was checking out the Auto One car and it looks to be in excellent shape. I just don't have the time right now to purchase it. I have to wait until early next year :(

Hello: The one at Siyam actually, I checked on the one at Auto One, yes it is in great shape, recently serviced et. My concern was the amount of work that HAD to be done. Wondered if the car had been driven extremely hard. I am negotiating on the one at Siyam, it is going to Ferrari on Monday for a inspection which will include some specifics that I included. The car look and feels good, needs a good detailing and some further TLC which I am capable of doing.

    Your thoughts,

    Thanks

Interesting that the Auto One car needed a lot of work. Did you inquire as to what kind of work? Any records? As long as everything is recorded, documented, the work is done properly and passes a PPI, then I should think it's a good buy. That still won't deter me from going to look at it when the time comes, and if it's still available.

I hope your car passes inspection though! 355's are hard to come by in the city. Good luck

Hi again: Thanks for the response, the car at Auto One has all of the receipts, most from legitimate Ferrari dealerships, still, why so much. The car looks fantastic and Colin the owner is a very nice fellow. Good luck with this, I am looking forward to the results of the inspection early next week. So, wish me luck.

You seem like a nice guy, so if you wish to communicate further let me know. I live in North Van, phone number 604-986-0002.

    Thanks Gary

Keep me posted on the results of your PPI. I'm interested to know how things go. If it doesn't pass, don't be afraid to look at the Auto One car a little bit more in-depth.

Perhaps talk to Joseph at the Prancing Horse in North Van. I think he knows about that car too. He might be able to give you some details. He's a good guy, I've known him for years. He'll be the first I go to when I get my car next year.
