I just bought a 328 in NJ and I need to have the car shipped down.

The car probably needs the 45K service - any recommendations on who to use in Miami, or perhaps do you think I should get the service done in NJ by Classic Coach.

    Thanks
    Lewis

Give Tim Stanford in Ft. Lauderdale a call at 954-764-7824. Very well known, and very good honest service. I take my 308 there.Tell him Sindo sent you.

Congrats, Lewis, on your 328 purchase!

You might want to contact Murry Bacchus at:

    BACCHUS AUTO INC
3837 PEMBROKE RD, HOLLYWOOD, FL 33021
    Phone: (954) 981-5737

I believe that Martin (Cavallino Motors in Miami) uses them for service on all his F-cars.

Hopefully, the above address and phone number are current...if not, perhaps Martin can chime in.

--Edit...oops, Sindo beat me to the reply :) -- yes, Tim Stanford is another excellent option.

Lewis, how are you getting the car to FL? How fast do you want to here? (that may be a silly question). Maybe I can suggest someone. Feel free to PM me directly.

Thanks guys, talked with Tim - he seems great. Took a bunch of time to walk through things and offered to help in anyway.

Car hopefully will be here next week

All the answers that you were given are good. I worked at Classic and Frank (Onofrio) has serviced my family's cars for years. They could handle a major on a 308 easily - it could take a while though. They get backed up with mechanical work when the body shop is busy - and it is that time of the year, Challenge season and cars coming out of their winter slumber.

Bacchus is excellent, I have two of my cars down there right now - motor rebuild on the Countach and new tires on the Maserati (only 10,000 miles on the first set of Pirellis - switching to Bridgestone). Martin also has two cars down there - BTW Martin, that Boxer looks GREAT - his really don't need work, though, all Martin's cars are perfect. I think that he just leaves them there so that Murray can't get MY cars up on a lift.

Tim Stanford is great and is, in my opinion, the best with the pre-90s Ferrari cars. Particularly the 308/328s. If you are going to be living down here, he would probably be my first choice for THAT particular car.

I indeed use Murry as well exclusively. He is working on a 348Spider right now (Kevins car) and he also has my 512BBi sitting that is in need of some mechanical work.

Yes Scotti, indeed I am doing this so your red Lambo can not get done :) Damn, how did you figure this out! I have a black 348TS going there as soon as one of them gets out of the shop.

Murry has done my 328GTS and has years of experience.
Tim does excellent work as well. His reputation is just as excellent.
From Miami you may be better off with Murry due to travel time.

Call me if you need a reference. If you call Murry and tell him Martin and Scotti said to call you will be treated like a king (okay that is pure bull, all of Murries customers are treated equally bad :))

Murry will treat you like a king - RODNEY KING!

Martin, btw, I ended up running down there LATE yesterday. Took another long look at the Boxer, that really is a great car. A bit warm for south Florida (except maybe in December) but a great car nonethelesss.

Sorry that I didn't call you before I left, I meant to call, but had been pulled out of the office unexpectedly - my mother had a blow out on her way home from WPB and I had to go, find her, and change the tire. (BTW, WTF were RR/Bentley thinking when they decided to use reverse thread bolts on the wheel lugs? After about 15 minutes of TIGHTENING, I finally realized that I had been turning the $%#^$%$% wrench in the wrong $%^#$@%^$#%^ direction!). Anyway, when I ran out the door on my rescue mission, I left my cell sitting on my desk, I ended up leaving straight from the 'Rents to Murry's, and I didn't have your number in my head. Sorry.

See you tonight at the cart track.

    Scottie
