Purchasing an eBay Car - Warning - Title Issue

I just wanted to share my story quickly...I purchased a vehicle off eBay (I've bought dozens without issue) and I received a title I could not legally register. eBay has a 'protection' plan with vehicles up to $100k. Unfortunately their rules basically state that as long as you receive something resembling a title, no matter if it's signed, unsigned, not made out to you, etc - they consider the matter closed. I am trying to spread the word so others do not get burned.
