So I am 30m, I just moved to Rome, hence I am planning to buy a Ferrari Roma

My budget is up to 250k, I have been reading a lot about Ferrari, I think Roma is great,

1- is it safe to drive a Ferrari in Rome everyday
2- does it grab a lot of attention and photos ?
3- what’s the best colour I should start with, since it’s my first super car and Ferrari, red ?
4- any Roma owners any advice you want to share ?
5- this would be my life saving ? Is gonna be worth it ?

1st - congratulations on having the ability to purchase a Ferrari at age 30. Bravo. I was 60 when I bought my Cali. Answers below.

1- is it safe to drive a Ferrari in Rome everyday
I live in the US & have been to Rome once. I would say no. Car will get banged up - possibly vandalized if parked on-the-street.
2- does it grab a lot of attention and photos ?
Yes - any Ferrari will attract attention - especially in Italy.
3- what’s the best colour I should start with, since it’s my first super car and Ferrari, red ?
I'm partial to Rosso Corsa but pick the color you prefer.
4- any Roma owners any advice you want to share ?
I will have to defer to others as I own a Cali.
5- this would be my life saving ? Is gonna be worth it ?
Yes - I have never regretted getting mine. Don't know that I would daily drive it as they are expensive to maintain & will depreciate quickly with lotsa miles. That being said - I've put over 18,000 US miles on mine in 2 1/2 years.

Q1 - yes by other drivers and the roads - car value trashed

    Q2 - yes

Q4 - lots of Roma advice already here for you to read

Q5 - no - the car will need insuring & servicing and may break so if you have no savings none of that will be possible - and then when you sell the car you'll have a lost a chunk of your savings even if you're still earning well

Blowing your life savings on a frivolous purchase at age 30 is a poor choice. Only buy if it’s not a stretch and you have the cash. Here’s an idea - invest your money and in 10 years buy whatever you want. Also rent a car and drive around Rome for awhile. Terrible city to drive in. You’ll basically be losing money why you stare at a Roma in your garage or rather your apartments garage.

Not sure about Rome, but there are cities here in the US people have told me high end exotics get spit on, drinks thrown on and keyed, sad but true. I was victim once and now very careful where I park.

And you think it's a safe environment for a Ferrari?
My daughter lived there...actually she's visiting now...and my wife and I spent a winter there. Between the traffic + people Ive seen on the streets, nope. (And I lived in Manhattan for 25+ years.)

Did see one. New Years Day an F50 roared past us on Via Nomentana...

I think, if I take care where I park, it should be fine

    I recently moved,

    It’s an Italian car anyway

I thought about this last night and your assessment may be correct...NYC is probably not a good comparison.

Maybe Ferrari's unique status in Italy will.serve to protect the car from vandalism...Kind of a.cultural PPF.

Good luck and enjoy. If it doesn't work out you can simply sell.

do you think it’s a good investment, because I’ll manage to get 20% off,

what about the attention and photos from strangers? Is it annoying? I have a mid luxury car and ppl take pics sometimes ? Is Roma a good option for daily use ?

The fundamental problem you have is that even a new Roma will depreciate so there is a good chance that even after the holding period it will be worth less than your net price - using it as a daily driver would make this more likely since both condition and mileage will be affected - you'd probably make more money leasing a Fiat (or buying a cheap POS from a departing colleague) for a couple of years and banking the interest on your 250k

Buy the Roma and stop confusing yourself. Take the experience and learn.
