    One less supplier now; another failed project by Craig Pollock

    Pollock's company had been developing customer 1.6-litre V6 turbo engines for the 2014 Foprmula One season.

    However, on Friday the former team boss announced that his operation had come to a standstill due to problems with his investors.

    "We have been manufacturing the parts and putting engines together in Cologne, but that has ceased as of today," Pollock told Autosport.

    Perhaps Peter Windsor was involved?

    :D

    Nah, Pollock was more than capable of ****ing it all up by himself.........

    One guy (and there's not many) I dislike more than Mansell. ;)

    All joking aside, some of the biggest manufacturers & budgets in the world struggle at this level. That he even thought he could compete puts his ego bigger than Bahar' IMO.

    *Switzerland* (IIRC, the company was registered at a hotel) WTF? Tax evasion?

    "The seedy underbelly of F1" right here folks........

    Cheers,
    Ian

    I don't really know much about him. There seems to be a lot of dislike for this guy. Why? Any articles/reference material I can read?

    My opinion (and I only ever met him a few times years back);

    He's a conman that would make the Pygmy appear an angelic businessman.

    He somehow rode Jacques coat tails from being his schoolteacher (!) to his manager to team principal at BAR - Yet another of his huge success stories...... I certainly don't know, but suspect there's a bunch of folk at PURE that haven't been paid. OTOH, I can almost guarantee that he's in front a few million.

    As with most of these types of guys, not too much....... His Wiki page kind of confirms the above, but not much else. He operates pretty much in the dark and you better keep your wallet close if you ever meet him. ;)

    As always, my 02c,
    Cheers,
    Ian

    You guys need better reading comprehension skills... ;)

    Or maybe you should read BOTH links provided, and not just the Planet F1 link which only repeated part of the story?

    Try this one again: http://www.gpupdate.net/en/f1-news/282047/pure-suspends-engine-building-for-2014/

    PURE didn't cease operations, they suspended them for 6 weeks. They still expect to be testing engines on the bench by September, and still expect to be supplying 2 teams or more for 2014.

    Sorry to disappoint, all who couldn't wait to dance on the grave!

    Supposedly its only a temporary stop until Swiss funding can be secured. I don't know why the funding has to come from the Swiss but thats what they claim.

    I could be wrong, but IIRC the USF1 effort issued a similar release about 6 weeks ahead of going down the ****ter too......

    I wish them well - The more engine suppliers the better - But I'm not holding my breath. Particularly given the main man. No grave jumping from me. ;)

    Cheers,
    Ian

    :)

    "Swiss funding"..... There's an oxymoron right up there with;

    "Military intelligence" &
    "British venture capital."

    ;)

    Hopefully, everyone got paid.......

    Cheers,

    I would love to see a new team, Briatore and Pollack and Windsor as principals. The job title is as much principle as they have total between them......
