Ferrari of NYC had the purosangue for client reveal, and I happened to be in town during it. First time for me seeing it in the flesh, and it is so much better than the pictures. Like most modern Ferraris, you have to see them in person to really appreciate it. After seeing it in person, I’m even more disappointed I wasn’t invited to order

My dealer emailed about ordering one today. Never even considered it! I'm now super intrigued.

I do not get the appeal at all but I am sure the shareholders will like it.

It's a lot better than I thought it'd be. But I'm much happier after seeing it to drive my FF than ever before. So rarely you're just punched in the face with confirmation that you made the correct decision

Saw the car today, its much better in person and the styling is really sophisticated with nuances you cannot appreciate until you see the car in person. I am glad to be on the list, anxious to drive it.

So, according to Harry, it still has a PTU. The body styling really is just a jacked up FF/Lusso with an extra set of doors.

The true innovation appears to be the trick (rollbar-less) electric suspension which is unique to the PS. It’ll be interesting to see if they’ve managed to nail that first time as McLaren’s first effort at rollbar-less suspension did not go down well with the 12C coming in for a lot of flack about ‘unnatural’ feel.

The 2 screen dash setup means the PS driver loses the touchscreen access to CarPlay that the Lusso has, right?

If I understood Harry, it appears the rear wheels are engaged all the time, but the front wheels only after slip is detected. This has me curious what others in snowy areas believe traction might be like?

Yes, Ferrari explained that the 4WD system is the same than on the Lusso/FF. It is overall quite an effective system and it does engage much faster than any haldex or similar visco-coupling found on some Quattros, and that are considered to be so good in adverse weather conditions.

One small correction though is that it does not wait to detect slip from the rear wheels to engage the front. It estimates when the rear wheels might start spinning based on acceleration and measured grip level and engage the PTU proactively.

Now understand this correct, since I love my FF: But the PTU on the PS is still not all-the-time/all-the-gears? That is not something I would accept.

Here I was assuming this was AWD all the time. I have no experience with a Lusso or FF in the Winter, but have heard mixed reviews from those that have. One person in particular, who recently told me “It sucks in the Winter.” This has me moderately concerned…

Watch this video and tell me if you think the FF sucks in winter.

The system is absolutely fantastic. It's RWD when you have full traction at the rear, and adds in the front as needed. From a traction stand point I was astounded at how good my GTC4 drives on fresh snow. Note Im on proper winter performance tires. The benefits of the system are fast reacting and lighter than traditional AWD by nearly 150lbs. The downside is it's a bespoke system, unique to a few special cars. it's a very "Ferrari" approach to AWD.

The Lusso is amazing in the snow. Beyond good. And yes, the tires play a huge roll.

    Two more points -

    1. I've raced around in the Ferrari Challenge and Club Challenge plus taken all the Corso Pilota courses over the last 22 year and the MOST fun by far was driving Lussos in the snow in Italy. By far...the most fun
    2. Corso Pilota on Ice will return with the Purosangue. For certain in Europe (rumor is not Livingno where these shots are from) and maybe North America.

Have to agree -- I can't help but wait for feedback from our other Porsche owners who have had PDCC / Dynamic Chassis Control -- as it's a moderated balance to each corner and the engineers intentionally deleted some of the anti-roll... I'd love to get a test on the Pursangue vs. the Cayenne GTS w/PSM & PDCC. It was phenomenal, but cost me a fortune to maintain. More than the 456MGT. and the FF. So Far.

Magnetorehological vs. PDCC/PASM would be a good poll. I've got to expect the Purosangue is going to be best of both. Will be fun to watch and give it a go if the chance comes up...
