Yup, that just screams Ferrari. My first thought was the shape resembled my girlfriend's new Honda HRV.
I've said this a few times... But I feel it's always important to raise the point and perspective of someone in the business and has good relationships with manufacturers and honestly lives breaths and studies the car business overall.... Now that doesn't make me right about everything I say but... I think my points are worthy of hearing. Ferrari needs the suv. They do. You might not like it but they have to build it. It's too big of a market and honestly they can't keep building these sports cars without canibalizing their line up. Also you don't want them to build crappy cars they make you buy in order to get the cool whatever. Let them build an SUV. Make the money on those suckers because they will sell every last one of them... With zero issue. Then they will be fabulous special cars for us to all enjoy. Without the boxster.... There would not be a us gt3. Without the cayenne there would not be a gt3rs and gt2rs and a speedster and a 911r etc... U want them to build it. Lambo is doing it and they are killing it and are going to use that money to find even better cars. If you are a Ferrari fan... You should support the unfortunate arrival of an SUV
Yup and actually turned it into one of the most profitable brands In the industry... For several years it was. Might still be.
I understand what you are saying and, in principle, agree. But much as most of the motorcycles I see on the road today are baggers/cruisers/etc., I'm glad Ducati (or Aprilia, etc.) has never built a 900lb bagger. I was hoping Ferrari would be the Ducati of the car world.
Well, it's hidden under a cut up and slapped together Maserati body, so I'm sure it will look nothing like that. I think the name is stupid, but Ferrari has done stupid names before.
I was specifically thinking of LaFerrari, but everything outside of the V12 single cylinder displacement and the V8 liters displacement/8 could be considered. 612 is just flat wrong, for example. It's not six liters. But 5.712 wouldn't be an improvement.
I agree with technom3. If the Macan and Cayenne eliminated the 918, 718, 911 (or somehow diluted them) - detractors would be on to something.
