I didn’t follow the details of this case. It appears most people hated Scott because he was an ass and many think payday loans are unethical. But done correctly, payday loans are legal. Last I checked, being an ass also is not illegal. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I think the criminal and this FTC separate things. he's still a criminal, Supreme Court just slapped the hands of FTC saying chill on the restitution.
he did it illegal, or pushed the limits what was accepted and legal at the time. are all payday loan companies located on reservations?
I don't know if it was from this mega thread or somewhere else but I always get a chuckle when I hear ST and think about a race in Colorado where ST was "wanted." Story goes he helicoptered in to race and helicoptered out after and the Man could not catch him. Yeah...pushing the limits...
Don't know. But there is quite bit of financial money rolling through reservations, apparently legally.
yep and I don't think that was the crux of his criminal case, just the "what is he hiding" that instigated them to go looking. I think it was the nature of how they got a person so deep so quick they couldn't get out.
Not only that - he bought a house there while they had a warrant out for him and supposedly flew in and out at will.
Gonna be hard to "undo" his brother's fatal leap, off that garage... He wasn't a Native American. His company hid behind the laws that govern Indian activities, like casinos. He preyed on the poor. He is an ass. Karma is a *****, some say..... His level of theft make Paul Frame look like a pick pocket....(with apologies to Paul Frame, who I have seen recently at COTA!) You know Paul, Dale.....he is your neighbor these days...might see him, at The Black Walnut Cafe or something....
Gambling AT the Reservation is legal, stealing from people using a PO Box there, maybe not???.. Note in the article his empire was based in Overland Park....in a lease I am sure....LOlolol
Criminal charges have withstood appeal. Tax Evasion charges still stand, as well... They are grinding him into a very fine dust.........cue Kansas "Blowing in the Wind".... And I am SURE any of those restitution checks the FDC HAS issued in the past eight years, are all cashed and spent, my friends...

"You can steal from people you can rob people, you can lie to people, you can run illicit organizations, but you have to pay taxes on that money because that's what the law says," said Tyler Hatcher, special agent in charge of the St. Louis field office for IRS Criminal Investigation. govt wants theirs regardless.... lol
