Growing up I had one dog for 17 years. Got her when I was 5, had to put her down when I was 22. She couldn't walk well the last few years, I carried her up steps, but she was always happy. At the end, she kept collapsing, and lost continence, and I think she was uremic. No pain, just a deep sadness in her eyes. I agree it was the hardest thing I ever had to do. Like losing a sister.
Hope Gable's rebound continues. Chocolate is a good thing. Not enough in donuts to make a diff. BTW, we have several cats, and the bad boy of the group came up and grabbed chocolate cake off one of the kid's plates. Loved it, and now is incorrigible. Evidently, not poisonous to all.
Good luck with Gable. Give him a Ferrari ride too.

I just wanted to know how Gable, the dog who loved chocolate doughnuts, was doing... Glassman are you out there?
