Great car. I think this vid though confirms what I feared, the F1 is dull dull dull. There's something missing from this vid, ah yes, the clink clink sound of changing gears. It's just too easy in the F1. It's a shame hardly anyone will opt for a manual anymore....

 

I drove the stick version of the 430 today, it is very powerful, significant, seat of the pants, feel, from 2500 to 4500 that is not present in the 360. The steering feeling is heavier but feels more forgiving. The rear end feels like it can't break loose, and the sound is killer. Tubi sales for 430 exhauts will be nearly non-existant. The starter button, at first I thougt it was cheesy, actually is a nice touch, overall, its a step up. Overall, it is very well done and in person looks nicer than the pics. I predict another sell out success. It is so far from a Gallardo its not funny.

 

You know i use to hate the F1 shift but then a drove a Challenge Stradale around a race course and realized how well those gearboxes perform around a race track

 

Don't get me wrong, I believe it's the only way to go for track use. Thing is most of these cars will NEVER see the track and most will be used exactly how this one was used in the video. Straight line acceleration all the way up thru the gears. I'm not saying that's what this guy always does, just that that's what most of them will be used for. To me, that's a waste of the F1 gearbox. Given the choice, and as I'd be using the car mainly on the road, i'd go for manual, no question.

Already done a lot of km's in your F430 now?

 

about 700km, ...... it sounds silly, but most of the time I don't know where to go with the 430, because my girlfriend isn't interested in the 430 (not even to drive it, toooo sporty, 4 point belts, etc....) and she isn't interested in driving the 348 also,
so 99% of the time I drive it alone,pretty hard, or make a small trip with a friend, .... Ferrari clubs don't interesse me, 99,99% is only showing off, you know .. driving max 120km/u ... visit the "nacht van exclusief", not my cup of tea.
But when the weather is gets better, I will try to drive them both, because my 348 didn't even came out this year ...

 

Patriek, if you don't know where to drive, you may always visit me or i'll come around your place somewhere! Would love to see a 430 outside the showroom! Still haven't heared the sound it makes either in real life!
I know exactly what you mean when you say that your girlfriend isn't interested in sportscars! Also had a couple of those!! And i only drive an S2000
Anyway, i hope you can make it to some meetings at Spa!?
