    Could someone explain what the difference is between the canon sd400, s500, ixus50, and ixus500? They're all 5.0 megapixel cams. Are they just different names for different markets for the same camera?

    I know that US SD400= european IXUS 50, and a quick google search tells me that Us S500= ? IXUS 500.
    Dunno what the relation between Ixus50 and Ixus500 is (they are not identical, though).
    The canon product line is damn confusing at times, and the same product having different names surely doesn't help clearing up the confusion :)

    Hey Brunner long time, its me techart 996 #1 #2 #3 from flat six lol (In case u didnt know.) Hope all is well w you. I heard the "sd" line up is newer than the "s" line (which I hear has been discontinued). I think the sd is slightly more expensive also. What Im not sure of, is the sd400 being more compact size wise, than the s500 aka ixus500.
