On my 2016 Cali T, when I activate the windshield washer function it also fires fluid at the headlights, which ends up with washer fluid all over the paint on the fenders. Is this normal? Obviously I could switch to plain water which would reduce the effect, but that isn't viable during freezing temps.

You can disconnect and plug the hoses to the headlights.

Its a legal requirement to have washers on HID or LED headlights. So yes, it's normal. Only "fix" is to disconnect and plug the hoses.
