Q for 308/328 guys running 10" rears (355 wheels on a pre-ABS 328)

I have to agree with Tillman, and I think the 355 wheels look better than the 360 ones. I just painted my calipers black with yellow "Ferrari" stickers from Birdman. Nice and elegant, but does not attract too much attention to the small rotors and calipers.

I'm not looking forward to replacing my rotors. I've got 115k on my '78 and the same rotors since I bought it with 65k on it.

On a side note, I just had a set of custom 17" wheels made for my car. I still have my 16" (7" & 8") HRE's. But as most know, 16" tires are becoming harder and harder to find decent rubber for. The 17's are a 5 spoke similar to my HRE 505's. They are 8.5" in front and 10" in back. I'll try and post up some pix soon. I may be able to have more made, if anyone is interested.

I’ve been toying with the idea to do this with my 328 GTS for years, using the 355 Challenge front rims.
Updating the picture reminded me to ask about your side window treatment, a GTB’ish look. Did you cut/trim the grill?

 

I remember the awkward frustration trying to get the first wheel bolt in while working with the loose spacers, trying to align up the bolt holes getting the wheel positioned right.

So here is the fix - have the machinist or a guy with a drill press partially drill a bigger hole for the little pointy disc securing bolts into the spacer. Use a socket head cap screw with a washer to hold the disc and spacer to the hub.

Here is a shot of the spacer on the stock brakes, a shot of the spacer, then a shot of the spacer mounted to the hub.

Now all you have to do is hang the wheel off f the spacer lip and line up the first bolt, or use a aligning pin as one of the previous posters
