I have a 1980 Maserati Quattroporte that I am trying to source some touch up paint for. The code is Italver PPG Marrone.2463.686 A metallic Brown. Does anyone have any suggestions on what this may cross to? I've heard that an alfa AR825 Marrone Metallizato is a match for the Marrone Colorado of earlier Maserati's and Ferrari's. Ferrari codes: Marrone Colorado 106-M-73, Marrone Colorado, 2.443.221 Thanks for any suggestions. Charles Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi, Most paint suppliers can "scan" a paint sample for a match. That is possibly your way to go. Regards, Ian
I have exactly the same car (1981) in exactly the same color! I also need a touck up for a few small dents. It would be nice to hear some info about yours... I just mought mine and one piston is stuck.. (head gasket have been blown for like 15 years and the cas has not been touched!! Do you know about someone who have an engine that I could get a cylinder liner + piston and rings from? The rest of the car is like new, also the engine (by looking at it). THANK YOU! Erik, Oslo
Hi Erik. The usual places can help you, MIE in the US, Bill Mcgrath Maserati in the UK, Candini in Italy...MIE will sell an unfinished liner for under $200. If you really can get away with replacing just one piston, then there are 3 OEM ones on Ebay right now with this item number. (no affiliation) 160311220048. I am sure full ring sets are readily available from the above too. Good luck with the rebuild, I hope it doesn't turn out too expensive all in, but these things have a nasty habit of mounting up!! Regarding the paint, that looks the same colour as Dr.K 's new addition, it's very handsome. Search for his last few posts and have a look. There are a couple of Ferrari 400s in Marrone Colorado for sale now, one at Guikas GTC and one at Brummen, lots of pictures to compare with the Italver colour. Cheers. Mark.
