To those who've live with either a .1 or .2 997 Cab: How necessary is that add on screen with the top down? Is there a lot of buffeting, noise and wind without it?

    My thanks in advance.

I do not think it is bad at all, though I have never used any type of windscreen in any drop top I have owned.

    Thanks.

I've never seen the need for one in the couple of covertibles I've driven or the few I've ridden in. But given the 911's aerodynamics, I was wondering if the screen is necessary. (If you're going to be boxed in by a screen door, might as well consider a mid-engined convertible or a small roadster, IMO.)
