I have found a second car that I'm thinking about buying. The first one I wrote about in anohter thread, didn't work out. Anyway, the car is really nice but the trident in the nose is painted in gold. Somehow it doesn't seem right. Most pictures I have seen, it has been silver or chrome? with red on the side. But now when I looked around a bit more I found pictures of another car with a gold trident. Was this a choice when the car was new?
You speak about the oval logo or the Trident itsself? There were 5 different oval Trident-logos in the history of Maserati. Ciao! Walter
Hi I posted some pictures on my thread re the 1981 and 86 Quattroporte including the front of my old Quattroporte I. I was definitely gold as are others I have seen. Does not mean there were not other varieties but that much is confirmed.
Here are two pictures showing my original question. Are both original? Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I woud opt for the Trident in non-gold color. But if the 1st owner of this QPI ordered the symbol in gild, then its original. Only God knows. I would go for the standart version. Ciao! Walter
