So I'm not one of the more frequent chatters here, but I love my Ferrari and I might have a cool idea for a get together.

    I am one of the homebuilders in the "Quality Street Showcase of Homes" this year on the golf corse in Newcastle. There has been quite a bit of media coverage lately, I hope you have noticed. The best part about this show is that it is a 100% charity event for Childrens Hospital. Should raise between $300,000 and $700,000. Since Friday we have had around 7000 people through the homes.

    Anyhow, I was thinking I could arrange for the show to open early on August 1, (Saturday) before the gates open and we all could drive our cars into the show (past security), park in the cul-de-sac and take private tours of the six homes fully decked out and priced from 1.8 million to 2.3 million. The show opens at 12:00 so I was thinking we could arrive at 9:30am and be outa there by noon. Might be a fun thing for the spouses too? The houses are very cool, especially house #5 ;-)

    If anyone is interested let's get a headcount, and if we can get a crowd of Ferrari's I'll set it up. I'm gone fishing to Vancover Island until Friday so post here if it sounds interesting and I'll firm things up later this week.

    Thanks,
    Todd

    Good morning this sounds like fun, a noble cause, and a reason to be there. Count me in, and please keep me posted on the times and what ever else is needed.

    Sounds like a good excuse to have some lunch afterwards and go for a drive on those fabulous roads Willis took us on a few weeks ago.

    Willis?

    Personally, I don't enjoy looking at the "Dream Homes" with a huge crowd. Private viewing, if it can be arranged, would be great.
Anyhow, I was thinking I could arrange for the show to open early on August 1, (Saturday)
August 1 is a Sunday I believe...................either way I'm in. I think the builder is Lochwood Lozier. Never built with them but I have seen many of their homes.................Almost bought one of their first homes in Montreaux way back in 93.............however went with a Ben Leland in Lakemont. Its amazing how much the homes in the Newcastle/Lakemont/Montreax areas have appreciated in the last 10 years.

    A private viewing sounds like what it will be. Maybe a 'quick' early lunch and ........................................

    Argh. This is the second time my bicycle will get in the way of an f-car activity. I'm in Germany for a bike race (also business) that weekend. Maybe I should sell it. The bike I mean, the bike... ;-}

    Kuzi,

    Cost of admission is $10 during normal hours. For this event we'll do the same, but on a voluntary basis. Every penny goes straight to Children's.

    Great response so far! I'm getting on the Clipper in an hour so I won't check this thread until Friday, but it's all set-up for the 31st :)

    Best Regards,
    Todd
