My first thought was that it operates a lot like a rotary (wankel).

Combustion chamber shape (although claimed 30% less elongated than the rotary) is probably problematic. Look at the crevices created by the carriages. Those are unfortunate hiding places for fuel-air mixture that could result in incomplete burning.

They do say that the mixture self-ignites so that may not be a problem, but then why the spark plug?

I would love to see one on a dyno.

Someone sure got jealous of the wankel- and created a less efficient 4 chamber one.

What was once a lubricant and sealing problem for the wankel.... There is so much surface area in each comnbustion chamber that the heat produced would be massive, and 8 "rings" as opposed to 3... Just asking for problems.

If you want a 4 cylinder engine buy a Honda. Seriously K.I.S.S. The wankel's used in all of about 2 production cars. Lets wait for all if it's problems to be sorted out instead of doing charades *just* for a 3-4 chamber "upgrade".

I guess neat concept, but hardly original.
