I just got a call from FOA advising that they have a demo Quatroporte for test driving. I think I may wheel by there this Saturday to give it a spin. I really love the way the car looks and have considered buying one to replace my now 4 year old 85k mile daily driver M5. But, I'm still a little concerned over reliability and depreciation?

It will drop 50% of its value within 5 years.... AND it will be a financial disaster when the warranty is expired. Also, you know the first year production is going to have bugs. They always do.

I am looking forward to picking up a 2006 model in about 5 years used with 20K miles on the clock for about $40K. Then again, I may be nuts.

Terry, I think you're about right on. Frank, thought about the Quattroporte myself, but I don't think it can be as every day reliable as our E39 M5's. I dont think the upcoming E60 M5 will be as reliable either.

Well, you may be nuts, but that's my game plan too. But I don't think we're going to have to wait the full 5 years...

Frank I saw the car at the Cavillano in Florida this year and it looked just great to me. I had the same questions as you but I also thought of buying one. I would drive it just to see if its a fit. I like it way better than the 612 and you have a 4 door car that is roomy for passengers in back. The interior looks great. MB's really go down in value too. Thier most expensive models go down the most.
